As Tyrolean family business PLANLICHT has stood internationally for high-quality architectural lighting solutions and first-class service standards for almost 40 years. With its own production facilities in Vomp in Tyrol and Murau in Styria, the Technology expert the optimum light for a wide range of applications - from homes and restaurants, shops and showrooms to offices, schools and nurseries.

Felicitas Kohler, CEO PLANLICHT & PLANLICHT GROUP, emphasises that sustainability is not just a buzzword for the company, but that it is based on the three pillars of responsible trade - sustainability, sustainability and sustainability management. Environment, People and Economic efficiency - a central aspect in the philosophy of PLANLICHT and the entire PLANLICHT GROUP represents.

The sustainability claim goes far beyond the reduction of energy consumption. It goes without saying that PLANLICHT luminaires - which are all based on latest LED technology The products are not only characterised by their particularly high quality and long product life, but also by the fact that special attention is paid to the environment in terms of packaging and reducing delivery routes.

In addition, at the beginning of 2023, the PLANFACTORY an almost CO2-neutral production site in Murau, Styria, which provides the majority of the primary products and technologies required for the production of high-quality luminaires and lighting systems. The plant - also part of the PLANLICHT GROUP - is characterised by maximum building efficiency and energy generation renewable energy sources (photovoltaic system, in-house wood chip system, green electricity from regional hydropower).

PLANLICHT also prioritises sustainability when it comes to product innovations. Recently, for example, the „green-Line“ a sustainable profile series. In this new product line, PLANLICHT uses the environmentally friendly „Hydro Low-Carbon Aluminium”, which leaves a significantly lower carbon footprint thanks to the use of renewable energies and the electrolysis technology used.

1 | Environment

High energy efficiency | The principle of our development and optimisation: maximum light output with the lowest possible power consumption.

PLANFACTORY | We also produce at our almost CO2-neutral second production site in Murau, Styria.

Short transport routes | Wherever possible, we source our raw materials locally and thus avoid unnecessary transport routes.

Reduced packaging | We avoid the unnecessary use of plastics and favour multiple use wherever possible.

Natural materials | Organic materials are used in all ALMUT von Wildheim product lines & materials with a reduced CO2 footprint are used in the green line.

Repair & Recycling | Our lights are designed so that they can be repaired and individual components can be recycled.

Pollutant limitation | Our products are free from hazardous substances and fulfil all the requirements of the RoHS and REACh directives.

PLANLICHT also favours sustainability with regard to the materials used in luminaire production. The green line uses the more environmentally friendly „Hydro Low-Carbon Aluminium”, which has a lower carbon footprint.

By using renewable energy sources such as hydropower, wind and solar power in combination with highly efficient electrolysis technology, the production of „Hydro Low-Carbon Aluminium” releases a maximum of 4.0 kg of CO2 per kg of aluminium. This is around a quarter of the global average and an important step towards a more sustainable future.
Not only is „Hydro Low-Carbon Aluminium” verified by DNV-GL in accordance with ISO 14064, it is also confirmed by an environmental product declaration.
A conscious, environmentally friendly choice of materials for a sustainable future.

The PLANFACTORY in Murau, Styria, is setting new standards for environmentally conscious production. As a member of the PLANLICHT GROUP, it combines state-of-the-art technology with sustainable practices and has set itself the goal of operating in a CO2-neutral manner. The site has been in operation since January 2023 and impressively demonstrates how ecological responsibility and high product quality can go hand in hand.

Green energy supply | The PLANFACTORY uses a high-performance photovoltaic system that supplies around 200 kilowatts of electrical energy to cover the majority of its energy requirements. If solar energy is not sufficient, green electricity from regional hydropower is used. In this way, the PLANFACTORY guarantees a sustainable and almost self-sufficient energy supply that completely replaces fossil fuels.

Efficient heat utilisation | For process heat and heating energy, PLANFACTORY relies on an in-house wood chip system, which, in combination with a concrete core-activated building heating system, offers maximum energy efficiency. All production facilities are equipped with heat recovery systems to minimise energy losses and further reduce resource consumption.

Environmentally friendly production processes | All PLANFACTORY equipment is selected according to the highest standards of energy efficiency. This significantly reduces the ecological footprint while guaranteeing responsible manufacturing of quality products. PLANFACTORY offers comprehensive solutions in thin sheet metal processing, powder coating and cable assembly and is proud to be a local partner supporting demanding customers with sustainable production solutions.

Human Centric Lighting (HCL)

Beyond the ecological and economic aspects of sustainability, PLANLICHT has been recognised for years as a Expert for Human Centric Lighting. This holistic lighting concept places people and their needs at the centre of lighting design.

Whilst optimum light has an activating effect on the human body early in the morning, it promotes concentration at work during the day and creates a relaxing atmosphere in the evening. This effect is created by the intelligent lighting solutions from PLANLICHT by adapting not only the light intensity but also the light temperature to the respective situation.

PLANLICHT was one of the first manufacturer, which has equipped its entire range with Human Centric Lighting functions. Especially in offices where people work long hours, the use of HCL technology has been scientifically proven to increase concentration and well-being.

At PLANLICHT, this consistent focus on people's needs does not end with the lighting itself. The company also manufactures special lighting systems in Vomp. Acoustic lights and Panels. The insulating materials from nature - such as hay and sheep's wool - filter out disturbing ambient noise and transform any open-plan office into a noise-free workplace.

Refurbishment kit for pure 1 & 2

For the profile luminaires pure 1 & 2 (direct distribution), which have been used in the past in many projects fitted with conventional fluorescent lamps and have now been replaced by the next generation - pure 3 - are LED refurbishment kits available.

Through the exchange with the LED retrofit light insert The luminaires have been upgraded in every respect with the new LED diffuser including through-wiring and LED diffuser: increased service life, optimised visual comfort, increased energy efficiency and reduced energy costs.
